She’s worth more to me dead than alive…

Devastated to learn her fiancé is nothing more than a con artist after her inheritance, Hope Pearson is seeking refuge at the Circle C ranch when her brakes give out, sending her careening into a gully and Caleb McBryde’s life.

Though her lines don’t appear cut, the ex Texas Ranger finds the circumstances surrounding her crash landing in Serenity Cove, Texas highly suspicious. For calamity seems to shadow the woman… One might say she’s An Accident Waiting to Happen.

Hope Pearson's life was turned upside-down when she over heard her fiance say 'she's worth more to me dead than alive'. Devastated and having just lost her father, she heads for the Circle C ranch (which her father left her as an inheritance) to gain a new perspective and fresh start. When she's just about there her brakes fail causing her car to slide off the road into a gully. Caleb McBryde is an ex Texas Ranger who hears the crash and comes to her aid. Though her brake lines don't appear to be cut, the whole accident doesn't appear to be an accident at all. Then other subtle attempts are made on Hope's life. It's clear someone doesn't want her around but she doesn't know why or exactly who it might be.

An Accident Waiting to Happen was a really great romantic suspense. I wasn't sure what to expect but the cover was very attractive and anything with a Texas Ranger (ex or not) is one I'm willing to try. Boy am I glad I did! The story hits the ground running from page one and doesn't let you go until the end. I fell in love with Caleb. He had all the things I like in a hero. Not perfect but strong, gentle, patient, loving and one of great faith. I loved the way he was with Hope. I also loved Caleb's brother Noah, and would love to see a story about him. The issues that Hope and Caleb faced and the way they worked through them was very believable. It was a well paced story with lots of interaction between the lead couple, which I really like. If you enjoy the writings of Anne Patrick or Irene Hannon then I'm sure you'll enjoy Accident Waiting to Happen. I sure did! Looking forward to other offerings by this author!

Accident Waiting to Happen edition by Trinity Hart Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Like her name, Hope, that's all she had when she hears the words from her fiancé's lips "She's worth more to me dead than alive!"

Hope Pearson is desperately trying to reach her father's Circle C Ranch when she slides off the road. She's rescued by ex Texas Ranger, Caleb McBryde.

Caleb, injured in an explosion, manages the Circle C. He wants to protect Hope and lead her back to the Christian life she's abandoned but he fears she'll never love him because of his scars, which are deeper than physical.

Hope discovers her deceased parent's secrets; her mother's to turn the ranch into a retreat and a secret of her father's that may very well end Hope's life.

The novel has it all romance, suspense, and creativity. Trinity Hart does an excellent job of keeping you on the edge of your seat.
The story was not bad until one scene about 85% into the book. Prior to that I was enjoying the story well enough. I liked the main characters and the plot twist at the end when the villain was revealed.

But, spoiler alert, that snake scene was ridiculous! There was not the slightest attempt to make that scene realistic, it was like a bad movie on the Syfy channel. A grown woman would never be "prey" for a rattlesnake. Rattlesnakes are afraid of people, they wouldn't chase you around a room trying to bite you. They bite only when people either accidentally get to close or deliberately try to handle one. They're not going to climb on and off a bed trying to chase you either. Unless it was just a mattress on the floor, getting on top the bed would be a difficult task at best for a rattlesnake. If the author was going for comedy, she succeeded, because I laughed out loud at the stupidity of that scene.
Trinity Hart's opening chapter to an Accident Waiting to Happen captured my interest. Hope Pearson's would-be killer rigged her brakes and caused her car to careen out of control. Caleb McBryde, a former Texas Ranger, and a hunk with a scar on his face as well as one in his soul, stumbles into Hope's life as a result of the accident. Can Hope find her way back to God? After all, He disappointed her. Will Caleb overcome his fear? How can Hope love a disfigured man? Hart weaves valuable Christian insights into the undertaking without overload on the preachy stuff.
This is one of my favorite books because it is well written.
I have not read many Christian Romance novels, but this one definitely touched my soul.

This book resonated faith, hope, strength. It is more about overcoming pain, lack of trust, lack of faith, bitterness, and doubt. There was strength, respect, and love in the relationship between Caleb and Hope. Caleb's strength and his faith in God in spite of what happened to him was awesome. Hope's return to her faith was wonderful. Together, they wetter inspiring. No sex. No graphic sexual innuendo. If that is what you are looking for, avoid this book.

BUT, A VERY BIG BUT, if you are avoiding this due to the lack of sex, I think you will be missing out on a really well written, positive, uplifting story.

**I was very surprised at how affected I was by this book. It hit
home with me because it reached out to my spirit. It was a calming and peaceful. I actually felt happy at the end.

Take a chance.
Overall it is a good, clean story with an important message which I enjoyed, hence my rating. However, the scene with the snake is ridiculous and, as far as I know, completely unrealistic. The number of incorrect and missing words competes with the story and it would behoove the writer to get it cleaned up and corrected lest the message be lost to the reader.

I have to take issue with one "doctrinal" point where the writer and I differ "Suddenly, she understood. God couldn't offer only goodness. Couldn't answer every prayer." This statement indicates that an omnipotent God is incapable of responding to every prayer. I do not agree with the writer. The last time I checked, Scripture clearly indicated that God can answer every prayer, but that He may choose not to answer, often does not give us the answer we want, and answers in His time rather than ours. I would have preferred to see Hope conclude "God didn't always answer her prayers the way she would like." For me this difference is a piece of chaff amongst the wheat, but if the reader prefers their wheat free from chaff, then this book might not be their cup of tea.
